GAMECHANGERS & CHAMPIONS HEADS TO LAWRENCE
The big picture: Gamechangers and Champions 2026 convenes startups, angel investors, corporate innovation leaders, and ecosystem partners from across Kansas for a full day built around action. The goal is simple: spark new angel investment, support early-stage companies, and keep Kansas innovation moving forward. Save the date for Tuesday, March 10, from 9 am to 4 pm for this year’s event!
Presented by: Kansas Department of Commerce, NXTUS, and KU Innovation Park.
How the day unfolds: The morning kicks off with breakfast and networking, celebrating the founders, investors, and business leaders shaping Kansas’s innovation economy. The Innovative Eight finalists take the stage, followed by two focused breakout tracks—one designed for startups, the other for angel investors and corporate leaders. Panels and workshops deliver practical insight, not theory.
Throughout the day, the Business and Basketball Lounge offers space to connect, recharge, and compete a little—yes, pop-a-shot included.
The finale: A keynote speaker sets the tone before the Top Four pitch competition. Finalist startups pitch live, winners are selected in real time, and $25,000 in prize funding is awarded, sponsored by the KU School of Business.
After the awards, follow-on investment conversations begin, coordinated by NXTUS, Accelerate Venture Partners, and the Oread Angel Investors network. The day wraps with a networking happy hour.
Startup founders: Compete for $25,000 in prize funding and pitch in front of investors and innovation leaders from across the state. Applications close Friday, February 13, at midnight. Apply and learn more here!
