Local pitch competition set for April 25

Douglas County CORE, in partnership with Black:30, is hosting its second annual pitch competition. Set for April 25, the competition has 18 pitch spots – nine for tech startups and nine for non-tech startups. There’s $25,000 in prize money at stake, including $4,000 for the first-place winner in each track (tech and non-tech). This competition is open to all aspiring entrepreneurs or those whose businesses are either new, growing or seeking to make significant changes to their existing business models.

CORE will provide a pitch deck template to help you get started. Please book time here if you need 1-on-1 support or want to ask some questions. If you’d like to help train entrepreneurs, feel free to attend any of the events or pre-register here. Be ready to listen to presenters and ask them questions.

The competition will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jayhawk Welcome Center, 1266 Oread Ave., Lawrence, Kan.
